My client a leading educational membership body for the legal sector is currently recruiting for a Membership Engagement Assistant – Graduate/Trainee Position. The role will be to provide administration for events and activities for members of the Inn as well as providing administrative support to assist in the running of the Department.
Assist the Member Engagement Manager in the coordination and delivery of the member engagement programmes.
Make the arrangements for attendees at events, including processing bookings, dealing with enquiries, producing materials, and attending to assist in the running of the event.
Assist with the organisation of member engagement and support schemes
Collate feedback from those attending events or participating in activities and produce regular reports on feedback.
Provide administrative support and take the minutes for the committees and groups for which the Member Engagement Manager is responsible.
Assist in updating the social media accounts and website.
Provide content for the regular members’ email newsletter.
Knowledge & Skills Required
An undergraduate degree in any subject would be preferable.
At least 6 months previous experience in an administrative support role within a busy working environment.
Experience of arranging formal events would be desirable.
Experience of working for either a membership organisation / association or professional body would be desirable.
Ability to provide effective administrative support with enthusiasm and be positive and helpful.
Good organisational and planning skills with the ability to deal with various tasks which may be repetitive.
Ability to use own initiative and prioritise a busy workload with minimum supervision.
Ability to work in a helpful and professional manner and develop productive relationships with other members of the team, other departments, members (including senior professional people) and external contacts.
Willingness to help and support team members including being flexible to business demands.
A confident communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of communicating effectively with a wide range of people.
Highly developed attention to detail.
Ability to use IT extensively including databases.
Ability to demonstrate honesty and integrity in everything.
