Basic Salary £55,000 with 30 Days Holiday exclusive of Bank Holidays

Our client a leading professional membership body with 21,000 members is currently looking for a Head of Membership for their offices in Central London.

This role requires the candidate to demonstrate capabilities, skills and knowledge in the following areas:
Oversee a calendar of events, including a high-profile annual conference, webinars, networking and other CPD events
Manage the delivery of all member benefits, including supplier management, certificates, quarterly journal, and develop the offer further
Support colleagues in the Professional Status team to ensure smooth delivery and support of professional development programmes
Work closely with marketing and communications colleagues to ensure effective and consistent messaging across all media channels
Create and implement growth and retention targets for membership
Develop strategic and tactical goals, producing and overseeing the annual business plan
Budget management for membership
Relationship management for key suppliers and stakeholders supported by the team
Responsibility for governance operations which includes a management board and two advisory groups
Line management of three direct reports, team management of Customer Service and Engagement teams. Overall team size of 10
Responsibility for the customer service function
Ensure all membership policies and procedures are clear, effective, and followed
Develop processes, templates and ensure best practice in all customer-facing activities
Act as conduit between marketing and customer service functions, developing outbound campaigns, reporting and ensuring a joined-up effective approach
Metrics and Reporting
Produce and manage regular reporting to performance board, highlighting red flags and incorporating feedback
Manage regular reporting on development, growth and engagement of key segments (eg student members, Fellows)
Work with colleagues to develop data plan
Using data to make informed decisions
Educated to degree level or equivalent
Clearly able to demonstrate expertise in membership management
Experience developing strategic goals and setting objectives
Experience overseeing a customer or member services function
Solid understanding of marketing principles, audience segmentation, developing journeys and content
Significant experience working with confidential data in CRM systems
Budget management experience
Experience of managing large scale events, online and face to face
Experience creating management level reports
Experience dealing directly with members/customers
Experience managing governing bodies, committees or boards
The ability to prioritise workload to meet tight deadlines and competing priorities
Presentation skills to a range of stakeholders including board level
The ability to assess performance and progress using both quantitative and qualitative information
Ability to reach decisions and judgments based upon a sound evidence base
A creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills
