Our client a well-recognised professional membership body is currently seeking to appoint a Head of Education and Training.

The Role

The Head of Education and Learning leads on the planning and delivery of the Institute’s learning and development programme. The post-holder is responsible for ensuring that offer is built around the principle of lifelong learning, that it addresses the identified needs and expectations of learners and is delivered in a learning environment fit for the 21st century.

Person Specification

A detailed understanding of the professional education, learning and development sectors

A detailed understanding of the legal and regulatory framework governing the awarding of qualifications

Qualified to first degree level

A firm understanding of the technologies that deliver and support learning in the 21st century

Proven leadership experience and proven expertise in the work of the teams this post will lead

Ideally experience and expertise in the following areas:

Education management, including syllabus and content development for qualifications

Management of CPD and a knowledge management function

Management of the development and/or application of a competence framework

Management of professional development teams

Devising plans for, and implementing the delivery of strategy across, multiple workstreams

Experience of managing projects, including forward planning and resourcing, and leading the team through a process of change

Extensive experience of recruiting, managing and developing a team, preferably within a professional environment

Extensive experience of managing a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including technical experts, consultants, local and international committees

Extensive experience of identifying, procuring and managing relationships with suppliers

Experience of working with a diverse, and international, customer base

Commercial acumen, and experience with setting and managing budgets
