Events Manager Not for Profit Membership Organisation Kingston Upon Thames, Surrey Basic Salary £30,000 Pro Rata plus a range of excellent benefits including 5% pension contribution, private healthcare insurance An Initial 5 Month Contract with view to going Permanent, Full Time A experience of running events is a MUST, ideally for another similar membership organisation. My client a reputable not for profit membership organisation based in Kingston Upon Thames, Surrey is currently looking for an Events Manager on an initial 5 month contract with a view to going permanent. The Role To manage and work on all areas of events, Meetups and Webinars that we offer by delivering them in a professional, timely and cost-effective manner. Whilst also maintaining good relationships with suppliers, customers and volunteers to ensure our members experience is relevant and non-members will find our offering attractive. Key Responsibilities Working on all aspects of the Programme Management portfolio, from research stages to on-site delivery and through to comprehensive post-event reporting Manage and stay within budgets for owned Programmes Maintain good relationships with suppliers and ensure competitive rates are always negotiated To adhere to administration procedures and systems to support effective completion and delivery on all projects Maintaining and improving standards of programmes by highlighting any issues or enhancements Developing key relationships with internal and external customers, suppliers, speakers and volunteers Be adaptable to working hours, especially around events where you will be required to attend and be away for a maximum of 5 nights at a time Mentoring and training junior members of the team Running with new initiatives and creation of processes around these Proof reading of emails Make sure all deliverables for our partners are met Key Experience Required Essential to the role are strong communication skills including a confident, professional telephone manner. Computer literacy is a must alongside accuracy for details. The candidate must be highly reliable and have a desire to work within an events environment who is also a team player. The membership organisation is a young dynamic, fast moving organisation; to work well in this environment and succeed in the role the successful candidate must be enthusiastic, motivated, dedicated, ambitious, hard-working and a great team player.
