Awards and Judging process administration experience is desirable

 

An excellent opportunity for an Events & Awards Officer to join a thriving and highly respected Chartered Membership Body working in their small and busy events team. The role will be home based.

 

The Role

 

Handle the logistics and administration of awards and events activities within the department.

Manage all elements of the judging process for the annual Excellence Awards and other awards.

Deliver components of event management, including planning, logistics, delivery, promotion, social media and evaluation for face-to-face and virtual events.

 

The Person

 

You will be a hands-on events professional with experience in both face to face and virtual events. Delivering a first-class experience to our delegates and members is key.

 

You will be looking for a varied and busy role where your views and opinions will be important to the development of our events programme.

 

You will work closely with the Events and Awards Manager to assist with the planning and development, as well as the delivery, of events and awards.

 

Person Specification

 

A graduate or graduate calibre with solid events administration experience for either a trade association, professional body, membership body, private sector, corporate organisation, in house or agency.

Excellent administrative skills, with a focus on attention to detail.

Excellent communication skills – written, face to face, virtually and on the phone.

Previous experience of working in a customer focused environment.

Database experience (the membership body uses iMIS CRM) and commitment to adopt and develop it for all events and awards administration tasks.

Excellent time management and organisational skills.

Knowledge of the process for organising an event, from conception to completion, with demonstrable hands-on relevant awards and events experience.

Work effectively under pressure.

Build strong working relationships with a broad range of internal and external contacts, including volunteers, members and colleagues.

Demonstrate a sound knowledge of business processes with experience of working with budgets and monitoring finances.

Ability to work well remotely, work well as part of a team and on individual projects without supervision.

Experience of working in an agile and proactive way.

Be innovative and forward thinking in general, but particularly in approaching problem solving.

Be conversant with social media platforms both for communication and for monitoring.

An understanding of professional membership bodies

Be fully conversant with the MS Office / 365 suite of products, especially Excel.

Show evidence of commitment to continuing professional development.
