An excellent opportunity for a Digital Content Editor to join a thriving and highly respected Chartered Membership. The role will be home based.

The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a digital content editor to join our dynamic marketing comms team and manage all aspects of our blog site.

You will be responsible for sourcing and developing blog content, copy editing, and publishing high quality content on the topics that matter.

You will be a skilled writer with strong editorial judgement and exceptional attention to detail, and you will be confident creating content for a range of channels - from blog stories to snappy and engaging social posts.

You’ll oversee the everyday maintenance of the blog website and will be responsible for driving site traffic through social media and email activity.

We’re a small but fast paced team with a wide remit, so we’re looking for someone who will be happy to work independently within a friendly and supportive environment. If you are looking for a varied and rewarding role and you enjoy rolling up your sleeves and getting stuck in, this is a role that you could really make your own.

This is a 12-month contract initially but the blog website is a growing platform so there is fantastic potential for this role to evolve and become longer-term.

The successful candidate will have 2-3 years’ online editorial experience gained within a similar role and will possess the following:

Good news judgement and ability to understand our audience

Excellent writing skills with ability to produce high quality and engaging copy for a variety of channels

Creative thinker with the ability to develop interesting and innovative ideas for new blog content

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Good knowledge of CMS and Google Analytics, or an aptitude to acquire it quickly

Ability to structure online articles for maximum impact and accessibility

Well-organised and self-motivated – happy to work on own initiative without supervision

Good understanding of media law

Some experience of using email and social media platforms

Photo editing skills would be beneficial
